This week saw the winners of the annual Business Traveller Awards announced and we're delighted that Holiday Inn Express was crowned Best Budget Hotel Chain. Our Priority Club Rewards scheme also walked away with the Best Hotel Loyalty Scheme prize, so it was a double success!

What's in a name?
Spotted that our Warwick hotel's name changed? To better reflect how convenient it is for Shakespeare's birthplace, our hotel is now officially known as Holiday Inn Express Warwick - Stratford-upon-Avon. We hope to welcome you to Shakespeare country very soon!
Somerston shortlisted in National Sales Awards 2011
We're absolutely thrilled to announce that our fantastic sales team have been shortlisted for the National Sales Awards 2011. Our team, led by Kelly Jolliffe, is up for the 'Field Sales Team of the Year' award against heavy-weights such as E-On, Vodafone and our colleagues in IHG's Leisure Sales Team!
Kelly and her team are now working hard to prepare for a presentation to the judging panel in September and will be on tenterhooks until the winner in November.
We couldn't be more proud - congratulations Kelly, David, Julie, Joanne, Jacqui, Eva, Gemma, Becky, Zahra and Anna!
IT work flat-out on flatscreens
Our IT team have been busy these past few months, buying and installing over 600 new 32-inch flatscreen TVs. The latest and final hotel to get the upgrade is Holiday Inn Express Northampton which took delivery of 126 shiny new TVs just last week.

July 2011Time for your close up!

Following a refurbishment of the lobby, lounge, breakfast buffet and meeting room, we're delighted to unveil our brand new photos of Holiday Inn Express Bath. With the school holidays upon us, we hope that the many guests who'll be visiting us in the coming months will be as pleased with the transformation as we are!
Another week, another TV announcement!
As our hotel is the closest to the O2, its no surprise that the guests at Holiday Inn Express Greenwich are big fans of top entertainment, and we're thrilled to say that they can now enjoy the best of the small-screen on not-so-small 32-inch flatscreen TVs! The new televisions have now been fitted in all 162 of our guestrooms.
Guests at our Holiday Inn Express in Northampton have just one more week to wait until the new TVs arrive!
Flatscreen fever continues
Holiday Inn Express Derby Pride Park and Holiday Inn Express London Hammersmith are now home to brand-new 32-inch flatscreens in every guestroom, as our television upgrade programme continues apace.
Our Holiday Inn Express hotels in London Greenwich and Northampton are also due to have the new TVs by the end of July. |
June 2011Droitwich joins the TV revolution
Holiday Inn Express Droitwich M5, Jct 5 is the latest of our hotels to benefit from the full upgrade of our televisions. Guests at our Droitwich hotel can now enjoy even better facilities in the guestroom with the introduction of our 32-inch flatscreen TVs with Freeview.
More upgrades will follow in the coming months so come back soon to see which hotel will be next!
General Manager moves
We are delighted to announce some changes within our hotel management teams as Danny Crompton, formerly General Manager of the 94-room Holiday Inn Express Droitwich, has moved to take charge of the 121-room Holiday Inn Express Swindon West. Claire Walsh, winner of our General Manager of the Year award for 2010, will be taking charge of our Droitwich hotel in addition to continuing her excellent stewardship of Holiday Inn Express Warwick. We wish Claire and Danny the best of luck in their new roles.
Our free breakfast just got even better!
We are extremely pleased that the breakfast selection at our Holiday Inn Express hotels is now better than ever! The free Express Start breakfast has been expanded to offer an even great selection now including beans, bread rolls, cheese, Kellogg's cereals, Twining teas and Muller yoghurts.
The new breakfast selection has now arrived at almost all of our Holiday Inn Express hotels and our guests so far seem to love it. We hope you'll stay with us soon to see why we're so proud of it!

Celebrate Service Week is here
One of our favourite weeks of the year has arrived and there's an excited buzz in all of our hotels! Celebrate Service Week is a 7-day long pat-on-the-back for our fantastic teams and gives us a chance to celebrate all the fantastic efforts they putting into making our hotels fantastic for our guests and also a great place to work.

May 2011New flatscreen TVs at 3 more hotels
Guests at our Holiday Inn Express hotels in Manchester Salford Quays, Swansea and Dartford Bridge are the latest to benefit from our continued TV upgrade programme. Guestrooms at each of the hotels now boast 32-inch flatscreens with full Freeview including Film4 offering an even wider range of TV channels so that they feel at home. |
